Confirmed vs. speculationWe label official announcements and separate them from editorial analysis or community theories.

The GTA 6 map conversation is full of confident shapes and huge mileage claims. The catch: Rockstar has not published a complete official map for players to measure. So it helps to separate what the studio has named or shown from what fans have inferred.

What Rockstar has confirmed

  • The game is set in the State of Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional take on Florida.
  • Vice City is one of the featured locations, alongside other named areas on the official GTA VI site.
  • Official trailers show a range of environments beyond the central city, including coastal and rural scenes.
  • Rockstar has not released a complete, labeled in-game map with final boundaries and distances.

What remains community research

Matching real Florida places to trailer scenes, estimating travel distances, and placing landmarks on one stitched-together map are fan projects. They can be thoughtful and useful, but a match is still a theory until Rockstar confirms it. The same goes for exact landmass size, neighborhood borders, and unannounced activities.

“A good fan map should show its work and leave room to be wrong.”

How to use a fan map without getting fooled

Look for the source of each location match. A direct trailer frame is stronger evidence than a resemblance; a named place on Rockstar’s site is stronger than a community label. Check when the map was updated, and remember that material from earlier trailers can be interpreted differently after a new reveal.

Our interactive GTA 6 map gathers community landmarks with photo comparisons and notes so you can explore the current research in one place. It is an unofficial fan project, and its locations may change as more official footage appears.

The next useful reveal

A full map reveal would settle a lot of debates, but even a short official look at travel, districts, or regional names could help fans refine their picture. Until Rockstar shares that, keep confirmed locations and fan estimates in separate columns.
