In its October 29 cover feature, Edge reported on a 90-minute GTA 6 demo played by Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson. One detail from the visit was how the Criminal Profile records the way Jason and Lucia deal with people during a crime.
How the profile works
Edge describes a scale that runs from Professional to Irredeemable. Players can try intimidating someone or incapacitating an opponent. Repeatedly choosing lethal force builds a more violent profile. Edge describes angel and devil icons that represent the ends of the scale.
Rockstar North’s demo also showed how quickly a routine encounter can turn. Early in the session, Jason found two officers arresting a suspect and took a shotgun from their unattended car. The scene shows how opportunities can arise while the player is out in the city.
What the preview leaves open
Edge’s account gives examples of conduct the system tracks. The preview leaves open how much any one decision moves the profile and which missions or encounters might respond to it. GTA 6 is scheduled to launch November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
